Nashville

A "reality soap" following young people in the home of country music. They've traveled to Tennessee in hopes of becoming successful singer-songwriters. Failing that, they'll accept a consolation prize of being reality-TV stars. It's sort of like "The Real World," except with twangy guitars.

The Pitch:It's the contrived, soapy drama of "Laguna Beach," with a bouncy country-and-western soundtrack.

Why It Won't:At last, Middle America has the chance to embrace vapid and vacuous reality show stars of their own -- assuming anyone remembers that the program is already on the air.
